Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles
Original language description
The PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicle) is the reaction of automotive industry on the green policy to reduce the pollutions and fossil fuels consumption in transport. The electric drive is optimal for control, but there is no battery available this time for one day energy supply, which for the passenger car represents at least 50kWh and the charging takes hours instead of minutes. But most of cars are typically used in common commutation cycle and only occasionally they are used for longer trips. For such range is the battery weight acceptable and the PHEV is an optimal solution, combining both drives. The PHEV is also good alternative for military vehicles for operation out of civilization and out of grid, where the battery can be charged from Diesel-generator only, which can serve as an independent power source.
