Original language description
The protection of the State territory and the airspace over it is under military responsibility. As from beginning of the last century, airplanes have become very effective tools to provide this task. The development of the aviation technology, acts again the state sovereignty, as well as the development of international law environment has influenced the possibilities how the protection of the state airspace looks like contemporary. The airspace of the nation, as the part of state sovereignty is generally protected by means of the passive and active tools. The passive protection represents the creation of law environment, aviation procedures and regulations which are generally fully acceptable by the international community. The active protection is presented by use of the military aircraft against possible air threat during the peace, crises and the war.
