Practical Experience with Distance Measurement Based on the Single Visual Camera
Original language description
The paper deals with problem of distance measurement of stationary target by single visual camera in the laboratory conditions. To reach this goal, it describes the practical experiments which have been performed in order to estimate distance of a targetusing visual odometry. Therefore, a camera and target have been used to estimate their distances. To make these estimations, photos have been made in order to get the coordinates of reference points on the target. Then, these coordinates have been usedin optical formulas to estimate distances of the target in the space. The paper explains what has been done for the preparation of these experiments, describes the experiments and finally analyses the results which have been found. These practical experiments give a basement for implementation into navigation subsystem of swarm robots.
