Reliability Allocation of a Vehicle With Regard to Warranty Costs
Original language description
The level of reliability of the vehicle parts must be such as to meet the required level of reliability of the whole vehicle or its functions. The task of the manufacturer of the vehicle or its part is the allocation of reliability requirements for eachpart of the vehicle. The subject of the allocation would not be only the requirements for reliability, but also other requirements, such as the amount of warranty costs. In the field of vehicles, warranty plays an important role since it is both a significant instrument of competition, and also because of the fact that warranty given by the manufacturer has very significant economic impacts upon him. The paper presents and discusses the fundamental approaches and techniques such as equal apportionment technique and weighted apportionment technique. The widely used Feasibility of Objectives reliability allocation method is briefly characterized in the paper. Also various modifications of this method are discussed. The impact of reliabili
