The article deals with surface protective structures used at the military bases of the Czech Armed Forces during peacekeeping operations. It describes three basic options of the structures: defence walls, reinforced concrete T-walls and reinforced concrete U-frames. All three structures are designed in accordance with principles of the STANAG 2280 ?Design Threat Levels and Handover Procedures for Temporary Protective Structures?. The findings from the research will be also used in the amendment of the military regulation of Czech Armed Forces Žen 2-1/1 ?Field Fortification for surface structures". The article is based on the outcomes of the Defence Research Project ?Technical support of design, building, maintenance and cancelling of the Czech militarybases in missions abroad, using the Reach-Back concept?.
