MOVEMENT POSSIBILITIES OF VEHICLES IN VEGETATION
Original language description
There is a dense, relatively quality infrastructure in the central Europe, but especially soldiers and members of the Integrated Rescue System often experience the need to use field and forest roads, or open terrain for transport. The basic assumption for a successful decision and taking control of the situation is knowledge of the terrain features and of course the accessibility of the maps, aerial and satellite photographs. In the paper there are discussed the basic geographic factors that are important for trafficability in vegetation. Geographic data is used for the calculation of the optimal route of vehicle movement in the vegetation. The results of the analysis are verified by field tests carried out on the territory of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
