Analysis of Lyman-Haskell gun
Original language description
The Lyman-Haskell gun was historically first multi-chambered gun shoot. It was intended to increase muzzle velocity of projectile by the use of additional propellant charges. The paper does present analysis of substantial design characteristics and doesdescribe interior ballistics of the gun with contemporary mathematical model. The solution of developed interior ballistics model is compared with experimental data and roots of former unsatisfactory performance are identified. In conclusion there are discussed the effects of implementing Lyman-Haskell like adjustments on barrel weapons.
