The increasing presence of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in military and civilian environments underscores the urgent need for effective countermeasures. UAVs ranging from military grade to modified commercial drones, pose significant threats, including reconnaissance, attacks on critical infrastructure and the misuse of 'swarming' tactics. Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) rely on sensor networks as a critical component for detecting, identifying and neutralizing this type of threat. Such as radar, infrared and radiofrequency systems are essential for ensuring comprehensive coverage and operational effectiveness. This work focuses on methodology of the object of critical infrastructure protection specifically on sensor placement optimization. It utilizes openstreet map base and 3D projection of Prague, to simulate and optimize sensor placement over Prague Castle, as an object of critical infrastructure use-case. Setting up the scenario configuration and evaluating sensor network performance, the research provides insights into enhancing detection systems. Furthermore, the research delivers the optionns to extend some assesments and conclusions to combine it into methodology to deploy complete C-UAS. These findings contribute to the development of adaptive defence strategies, enabling effective UAV threat mitigation.
