The article informs about life and work of Jiří Fiedler (1935-2014), who studied at Charles University in Prague philology, but during all his life he was besides his work devoted to the documentation and photography of the endangered christian and laterespecialy Jewish sites. He published book on Jewish Sites in Bohemia and Moravia and large number of the studies about the history and life of the Jewish Communities in Czech Lands.
