COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE AND THEIR INTEGRATION IN THE ORGANISATIONAL PROCESS
Original language description
The crucial importance of knowledge forces organisations to deliberately and systematically work with knowledge. Nowadays this ?care? for knowledge can be achieved best through communities of practice. These communities are one of the tools to create, share and manage knowledge. This article mentions various definitions of these communities and shows their importance and benefits. It also contains a definition of knowledge and knowledge management. This paper also focuses on the integration of communities of practice to the organisational structure of DaimlerChrysler and British Petroleum.
