Educational texts are one of the most common ways to transfer knowledge not only in education but also in everyday life. To be the transfer of knowledge efficient, the text should contain knowledge, ideally in its pure and accessible form. Even if thereis no generally accepted definition of knowledge, some kinds of knowledge representation known in Knowledge Engineering can be used for this purpose. The objective of this paper is to propose a clear methodology to create texts, which represent knowledgeexplicitly. For this purpose we analyze individual aspects and characteristics distinguishing different styles of general texts. Then we use the representation of knowledge, which is suitable for expressing in a natural language - knowledge unit - and show, how analyze sentences and paragraphs to acquire knowledge units from the text.
