The paper is aimed at an assessment of the relationship between results of admission proceedings and the University study successfulness. The core of the research was the relationship between the Mathematics admission test results and the exam results oftwo of the courses taught during the first bachelor level study year: Mathematics and Mathematical Methods in Economics. The research was carried out on two statistical samples comprising the results by students from the Economics and Management and theBusiness Administration study programmes. Using the regression and correlation analysis and the Principal Component Analysis the mutual relations and the importance of separate factors were assessed.
