    PERCEIVED PARENTAL STYLES AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT BY UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

    The paper follows the lineage of researches that reflect the importance of parental styles for the educational outcomes of their children, even in the stage of early adulthood. The goal of the research is to identify prevailing trends in parenting styles by students of the Czech University of Life Sciences by both of the parents separately, but also their correspondence. For this purpose, the self-reflective questionnaire of parenting styles based on dimensions of emotional relationships, requirements ad permissiveness was used. Moreover, the research aimed at revealing connections between parenting styles and academic achievement operationalized as an average grade from the first year of bachelor study. According to the results, the prevalent parenting styles in our research sample was slightly permissive.
