LEVEL OF SELF-COMPASSION AND ITS CONNECTION TO ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND GENDER BY UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Original language description
The support of self-compassion is one of the crucial goals of mindfulness-based programs whose importance between well-being-centered approaches became unquestionable. This article follows the lineage of research on the self-compassion of university students. Its objectives consist of the assessment of the level of self-compassion by the students of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) at the Czech University of Life Sciences (CZU) to precise the planned mindfulness-based intervention. For this purpose, the Self-compassion Scale was used. Further, we observed the connections of self-compassion with academic achievement as well as gender-related specifics. The results proved insignificant correlations between the selfcompassion subscales and self-reported grades, but also subtle differences in the structure of the self-compassion by males and females.
