Enhancing Student’s Skills Of Enterprise Architecture By AI Support: A Case of Czech Republic
Original language description
High Education Institutions (HEI) in the Czech Republic are now facing the pressure of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the educational process. By its very nature, digital transformation (DT) permeates every sector of the national economy; none can be neglected, and it is a topic that cannot be imagined without a holistic approach to gradual implementation in all spheres of organizations and businesses, whether it is the strategic, motivational, business, application, or infrastructure level - i.e., the entire enterprise architecture (EA). Therefore, one of the methods to successfully master DT, which students learn in variously focused information and communication systems (ICT) subjects provided by the IT Department of the Faculty of Operational Economics at Czech niversity of Life Science, Prague, Czech Republic, Europe, is EA modeling with the aim of better linking the requirements of business with the ICT possibilities. EA modeling supported by software is often a routine and burdensome activity. Therefore, including AI in teaching techniques is one area that makes teaching EA more attractive. In this article, we discuss AI as a support in enhancing students' skills in EA within the ICT, DT, and EA subjects. The article raises research questions regarding the impact of AI on the educational process. We base the answers to the research questions on empirically verified results collected during a five-year period of teaching the EA approach in respective ICT subjects.
