Keroplatidae, In: Barták, M., Vaňhara, J., (eds.) Diptera in an Industially Affected Region (North Bohemia, Bílina and Duchcov Environs) I
Original language description
Altogether 20 species of the family Keroplatidae have been found in the study area, which represents 41.7 % of the total fauna of the Czech Republic (71.4 % of the fauna of Bohemia). Most species found are European in distribution (10 spp., 50%), followed by temperate and North European (6 spp., 30 %). A much smaller proportion belongs to both Palaearctic and Eurosiberian elements (2 spp. each, 10 %). Altogether six species are new to the fauna of Bohemia (i.e. 21.4 % of the known Bohemian fauna). The most common species in the study area were O. nemoralis (11 localities) and M. phalerata (7 localities). Localities most suitable for keroplatids on the basis of number of species appear to be Holibka and Štěpánov, both hosting 11 species.
