From 1990 there is constantly escalating corncernment in mutton sheep breeding. In 1990 proportion of these breeds was 0,6% i.e. 2600 sheeps from total number of sheeps. In present it is 30% i.e. 25 800 sheeps. Preferred mutton breeds are: CHAROLLAIS, SUFFOLK, TEXEL and OXFORD DOWN. These breeds are raised in thorough-bred form or for commercial crossing and producing fattening lambs in all product areas.
