The underseedings of clover (Trifolium pratense L.) and lucerne (Medicago sativa L.) were established in different cover crops at the experimental station CUA Prague - CR in Eervený Újezd during the last twenty years. The main qualitative traits were studied - such as PDI, NEL, NEV, DNS by means of laboratory analyses, besides the mean yield elements . The produced quantity of MJ NEL was the highest in the cover crop - wheat + pea of SEMILEAFLESS type (8,7 t/ha) in the underseeding of clover and lucerne. The lowest yield produced by the stands established without a cover crop and into rapeseed. The highest quantity of PDI in clover and lucerne was reached in cereal cover crops.
