Original language description
Except for the predominantly montane Leiomyza curvinervis (Zetterstedt, 1838) all other species of Asteiidae known from the Czech Republic were found in the area under study. This rich species composition is significant as only four common species, viz.Asteia amoena, A. concinna, Leiomyza dudai, L. laevigata, were expected to live in the area. The frequent occurrence of Asteia elegantula in the locality No. 21 (mixed forest) is the most remarkable because this distinctly thermophilous species is rarelyrecorded from lowlands of the Czech Republic (cf. ROHÁČEK 1999). Mycetophagous Leiomyza spp. are mainly confined to woodlands, although L. dudai can sometimes also occur on sporocarps of fungi in open habitats (confirmed in loc. No. 7).
