All 11 species of Clusiidae known from the CR develop in rotten wood of (mainly) deciduous trees. Some of them seems to occur in every woodland habitat with moist rotting wood (e.g. Clusia flava, Clusiodes albimanus, C. ruficollis) but most others are infrequent and mainly associated with well-preserved forests having larger quantity of fallen trunks and stumps of older trees. An unexpected diversity of Clusiidae was found in the area under study (8 species, i.e. 72.7 % of the Czech fauna), including aspecies new to Bohemia, viz., Heteromeringia nigrimana (Bílina-Holibka, hilltop steppe, 450 m, 24.vii.-24.viii.1998, 1 male, Malaise trap; same locality, 400 m, vii.-x., 1 female, emerged from dead wood).
