Original language description
Three of 4 species known from the whole teritory of the Czech Republic were found in the study area. Flies of the genus Trixoscelis are distinctly warm-lowing and occur mostly at lower altitudes on relatively dry habitats. T. similis prefers forest steppe biocoenoses and was formerly only recorded from southerm Moravia (cf. ROHÁČEK 1985, 1999; ROZKOŠNÝ & VAŇHARA 1992) but it has recently been revealed in 5 localities also in Bohemia including a record from the target area (locality No. 14 - ROHÁČEK 1995). Subsequently, it proved to be the most abundant and frequent species of Trixoscelididae in the area under study. T. marginella seems to be yet more stenotopic and restricted to steppe habitats; it was only found in hilltops steppe on the Chloumek hill(loc. No. 6). The latter locality appeared to be most suitable for trixoscelids - all three above recorded species were found there.
