An average amount of newborn Charollais lambs was 1.64 in the period 1996 - 2000. The amount 1.55 was recorded in Suffolk flocks and 1.47 in crossbreed flocks during the same period. The significant differences in amount of newborn lambs were found in comparison of Charollais and Suffolk breeds, Charollais and crossbreeds (P?0.001), and Suffolk and crossbreed lambs (P?0.01). The best results in evaluation of the flock's influence on the amount of newborn lambs were achieved in a flock of Charollais breed. The highest growing rate was at Charollais breed (average daily gain in the first hundred days of life of lamb-ewes was 250g, and ram-lambs 255g.
