Quality of early potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) tubers affected by white nonwoven fleece
Original language description
Effect of white nonwoven fleece Pegas Agro UV 17 on the contents of ascorbic acid, nitrates and polyphenols in the years 1999 and 2000 and the content of carotenoids in the years 2000 and 2001 in tubers of two early potato varieties (Adora and Impala) infield experiments on two cultivation sites (Přerov n/Labem and Prague - Trója) was investigated. Early irrigated potatoes were cultivated according the uniform methodology for field trials. Potato plants were cultivated under white nonwoven fleece and the quality parameters of tubers were compared with the control without covering. The tubers were harvested and analysed three times in intervals 7 - 16 days. The obtained results were statistically evaluated by Anova and Tukey´s methods. Content of ascorbic acid showed apparent tendency to higher values in potatoes covered with white fleece (av. increase by 12.3 % in comparison with control). Besides of the effect of the fleece, content of ascorbic acid was significantly affected by the
