    Influence of non woven textile covering on the nutritional value by the lettuce

    The aim of this work was to determine the influence of non woven textile covering on selected substances contained in the leaf and head lettuces. There were no significantly diferences between covered and non covered version in content of sodium, calcium, magnesium, dietary fibre and nitrates. Covering of non woven textile reduced average content of: - carotenoids of 33,5 %, chlorophyll of 25,6 %, potassium of 13,7 %, dry matter of 25,8 % and cadmium of 12,9 % by the Lollo Rossa cultivar, - vitamin C of36,5 %, carotenoids of 36,4 %, chlorophyll of 37,8 %, potassium of 7,3%, dry matter of 14 % and cadmium of 15,7 % by the Bergamo cultivar, - vitamin C of 32,5 %, carotenoids of 55,3 %, chlorophyll of 53,7 %, potassium of 24,4%, dry matter of 25,6 % andcadmium of 53 % by the Lednický cultivar.
