  • Original language description

A field experiments was carried out during 1996-99 to identify the constraints to yield im-provement and to suggest ways to obtain higher yield. The aim of study was to investigate the morphological aspects of different growth conditions and canopy structures of oilseed plant un-der the influence of different technological practices: date of sowing (20.8., 30.8. and 10.9.), stand thickness (10, 40, 60, 80 and 110 plats per m2) and nitrogen fertilization (0, 75, 150 and 300 kg N per ha). The analysis ofyield components (number of generative organs was fol-lowed in 6 time periods from the beginning of flowering including post-harvest analysis) showed significant differences between variants. Generative organs on different branches differed sig-nificantly and the highest percentage of pods was on the terminal racemes. There were clear differences in number of pods and number of seeds on the low branches of plants influencing the number of harvested pods by compensatory effect. It was sug
