    There are used 3 new breeding of Medicago varia (ŽE XLI, ŽE XLII ?ŽE XLV) and variety Jarka (Medicago sativa) in a plot trial. Plot trial was divided into three variants with four replication: 1. 3 cuts, roller after cut, 2. 3 cut, harrows after cut, 3.3 cuts, no treatment. Statistically significant higher yield of dry matter (P=0,0018) was reached in the cultivar Jarka 12,91 t DM.ha-1 in comparison with all new breeding, which are on the same level about 12.0 t DM.ha-1. This result is given mainly bydifferences in the first cut which makes the main part of the total yield. The effect of year was high significant (P < 0,0000), effect of treatment no significant (P = 0,8087). If the new experimental strains are better in specific parameters, they willextend a list of alfalfa cultivars in the Czech republic.
