Effect addition of organic chromium and iodine compounds on fattening of broiler chicken
Original language description
Poultry meat, although being universally considered as dietetic food, is truly charakterized by an excessive fattening. Many studies indicate that trivalent chromium (Cr+3) and iodine (J) modify lipid balance of animals via their effect on energy metabolism. The aim of the experiment was to check whether feeding the broiler chicken with the mixture, containing addition of yeast preparation, enriched with Cr+3 adn iodine in a form of rockweed in the quantities higher than the requirements had an influence on the degree of carcass fattening in broiler chicken and also, on the body weight gains and feed conversion. The experiment was conducted with 3 groups of broiler chicken (50 birds in each group) which received, during the period of feeding with grower ? type mixture, 400 ppb of Cr+3 (group II) and 5mg of J per one kg of feed (group III). The results of the studies were subjected to statistical analysis, using computer systém Statgraphics 6.0 Plus. The addition of Cr+3 in the form of
