Original language description
Altogether 4,588 specimens of the family Empididae representing 80 species were found by means of three collecting methods in three selected peat-bogs in the Šumava Mts (Rokytecká peat-bog, 638 specimens / 48 species, Zhůřské peat-bogs, 1.134 / 46, and Novohůrecká peat-bog, 2816 / 49) situated at different altitudes (from 880 to 1,170 m a.s.l.). Three collecting methods are compared: yellow pan water traps (279 specimens / 29 species), sweeping (225 / 21) and Malaise traps (4.084 / 74). Two species, vizRhamphomyia umbripennis (49.93 %, a tyrphophilous species) and R. longipes (15.50 %, a tyrphoneutral species) were eudominant, no one was dominant. Empidid communities in all localities are compared by means of a number of species, species richness, species diversity and species equitability indices, and coefficients of similarity.
