The influence of plant covers of set-aside fields and their management on the weed spectrum
Original language description
The influence of different plant covers of set-aside arable land (Arrhenatherum elatius, Bromus marginatus, Festuca pratensis, Dactylis aschersoniana, Trifolium repens, Medicago lupulina, Lotus corniculatus and Medicago media) and the sward treatment (cutting once or three times per year, mulching once or twice per year) on the weed infestation was researched by the weight method in Prague (chernozem, altitude 281 m a. s. l., average precipitation 472 mm per year, average year temperature 9.3 °C) during1998-2000. Canoco for Windows 4.5. - Canonical Correspondence Analysis was used for the data evaluation. The papilionaceae swards were infested mainly by Elytrigia repens and by annual species. Cirsium arvense and other perennial species (e. g. Rumex ssp., Artemisia vulgaris) were dominant species in the grass swards. A positive influence of mulching once per year on the occurrence of Elytrigia repens and twice per year on Cirsium arvense was proved. Lactuca serriola was found mainly in
