Application of pedotransfer functions on retention behaviours of soils
Original language description
Soil hydraulic characteristics, like soil water retention curve and hydraulic conductivity, are indispensable input data for simulation in agriculture, landscape management and water-resources engineering and all possible environmental incidence of assorted fields. However, a direct measurement is troublesome, time-consuming and expensive. Alternative approaches called pedotransfer functions (PTF´s) for predictions of soil hydraulic parameters have been continuously developed by many researchers in theworld. This work is focused on the estimation of soil water retention, represented by the retention curve or pF curve respectively. Relatively large and for the CR unique collection of measured retention curves from the locality Tišice in Central Bohemiawas used as the source of field dta. The set consists of 140 measured retention curves (Matula, 1988, Kuráž, 1989).
