Porcine Oocytes Activation using Nitric Oxide Donor and Effect of Protein Kinase C Inhibitors

  • Original language description

The aim of our study was to find out the effect of protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitors on porcine oocyte activation by nitric oxide (NO) donor (SNAP). The inhibitor bisindolylmaleimide I, which inhibits calcium-dependent PKC isotypes (PKC-á, -âI, -âII, -ă)and calcium-independent PKC isotypes (PKC-ä, -ĺ), Go6976, the inhibitor of PKC -á, -âI, hispidin, the inhibitor of PKC -âI ?and -âII isotypes, and rottlerin, the inhibitor of PKC-ä isotype, did not prevent NO-induced activation. On the basis of these results it can be supposed that PKC does not participate in the regulation of processes associated with NO-induced oocyte activation.
