Moření horkou vodou - vliv na osivové hodnoty

  • Original language description

Hot water treatment (HWT) means seed treatment for reduction of pathogens on seeds by the non-chemical way. This is an efficient and not very expensive method of seed protection. Seeds of two vegetable crops [cabbage, carrot] were used in the experiment,4 seed lots of each crop. Seeds were putted into nylon bags and treated by HWT in the water bath.HWT at temperature 50°C, 20 min was optimal method for cabbage treatment. Carrot is less susceptible for strict HWT conditions. The response on HWT treatment depends on seed lot quality, mainly on its vigor. It is necessary to find general rules for this treatment, but differences between seed lots original quality can influence response of seed lot after HWT.
