Original language description
The pasture types of lucerne variety achieve higher forage quality in comparison with hay types. The aim of this study was to assess the forage quality of three new Czech lucerne candivars with different ratio of American pasture lucerne varieties in their origin. The variety Jarka was used as standard. In 2001, the plot experiment was established in the field of the Research station of the Czech University of Agriculture in Červený Újezd. In 2002 ? 2004, the three harvest frequency was used with harvest in late bud or flower stage. The following forage quality parameters were assessed by each cut: crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CF), acidodetergent (ADF) and neutrodetergent fiber (NDF) content. At late bud harvest, the significantly lower crude fibercontent was observed at pasture candivar XLI and XLII; lower ADF content at XLII in comparison control variety while intermediate type XLV was in all parameters on the level of standard. There were no significant differences in CP and ND
