Results of cows? reproduction are unsatisfactory. New systems of reproduction management for full utilization of biological possibilities of cow conception are looking for. New reproduction indicators are used simultaneously with conventional practices,for example progesterone level determination in milk or blood, which makes it possible to individual and detailed observation and evaluation of renewal of cow reproduction, functions after calving. Level of progesterone is in correlation with health, metabolic or technology stress and energy balance. We can use progesterone concentration for demonstration of ovary functionality with determination of impact of these factors or for increase accuracy of heat detection in combination with observation of physiological or behavioural changes in cows.
