  • Original language description

A total of 15 species of Milichiidae (i.e. 65.2 % of 23 species - also including the unnamed species of Phyllomyza - known from the Czech Republic) have been registered in Podyjí NP. This local fauna is formed by six widespread species, viz. cosmopolitan(1), Old World (1), Holarctic (3) and Palaearctic (1); other eight species have more restricted distribution and are Southwestern Palaearctic (1), Temperate and North European (3) and Temperate European (4); the remaining species, Phyllomyza sp.n. (?) is only known from the Czech Republic. Of these only one, M. speciosa, is markedly thermophilous and occurs in Podyjí NP on the northern limit of its distribution. Desmometopa microps is of the tropical origin, it is true, but it is an expansive species rapidly spreading across central Europe and inhabiting also higher altitude habitats. The milichiid fauna of Podyjí NP includes besides the frequent, habitat tolerant and/or synanthropic species (D. microps, D. sordida, L. latipes, M. glab
