Altogether six species (i.e. 75 % of the Czech fauna) have been recorded in Podyjí NP. Five of these species are widespread (2 Holarctic, 2 Palaearctic and 1 Eurasian), only one (A. rufifrons) has a more restricted (Temperate European) distribution. Thisnumber also includes L. scatophagina (reported from the area by FRANZ 1989) and, particularly, a species (and genus) new to the fauna of Central Europe, viz. A. rufifrons, the record of which raises the total number of species known from the Czech Republic to eight. The new record of A. rufifrons is very important, both from the biogeographical (confirming the presence of the species in the area between Croatia and England) and conservation point of view. None of the Asteiidae species included in the Red list (ROHÁČEK 2005) were recorded from Podyjí NP, but this list should be supplemented by A. rufifrons (found in Podyjí NP) which is considered endangered (EN) in the whole of Europe, although its rarity may be caused by its virtually
