  • Original language description

Altogether 24 species have been found in the study area (= 53.3 % of the total Czech fauna). Most of the species found were broadly distributed, at least in Palaearctic region (17 species, 70.8 %), followed by West Palaearctic elements (7 species, 29.2 %) but from a zoogeographical point of view these terms are inaccurate because most bombyliid species are absent in cold regions. The records of P. canescens are the first reliable records from the Czech Republic and those of P. minuta are the first in Moravia. Five species found in Podyjí NP (A. trifasciatus, B. fulvescens, P. canescens, P. minuta, V. cana) were included in the recent Red list (BOSÁK 2005a,b) as vulnerable species and another one (V. modesta) as locally extinct from which category it must be removed. This proves the extremely high value of the area of Podyjí NP for nature conservation
