Altogether 45 species have been found in the study area, including D. simulans, the occurrence of which has not been proved in the most recent collections (see Introduction). Two species (A. formosus and S. coleoptrata) were recorded from Moravia for thefirst time. The three most frequent species were ascertained in 15 or more samples ? D. phalerata (20), D. testacea (19) and D. kuntzei (15). All of the three are ubiquitous, more or less anthropotolerant but not synanthropic species, developing in fungi. There were great differences in the number of drosophilid species among the studied localities. By far the greatest number of species (24) was found in the locality Braitava-letohrádek (old wood, 3/02), and 16 species were found in each of three morelocalities (1/02, 3/03 and 6/04, all being wetlands with residual floodplain forests along Dyje river). On the other hand, there were two localities (6/01 and 9/01) where no specimen of the family was collected at all; no doubt it is beca
