  • Original language description

Altogether seven species were found or reported in the study area, which represents 43.8 % of the known Czech species. All species found are broadly distributed, being Palaearctic or even broader in distribution. It is highly probable that using specialcollecting methods (sampling from host?s body, from bird nests, feathers of birds or mammal?s furs), additional species can be found, at least Ornithomyia biloba Dufour, 1827 certainly inhabits the area. The commonest species in Podyjí NP was L. fortisetosa found in 6 localities. The poor representation of the family and its ectoparasitic life style do not enable evaluation of localities according to species richness.
