Qualitative parameters of Chamomile (Matricaria recutita L.) in Organic Agriculture

  • Original language description

Specific field experiments 2005 - 2007 in organic agriculture are matched accurately at the experimental farm Praha - Uhříněves, which has received a license for organic agriculture. In autumn sowings a more stable yield potential was also determined atthe Bohemia cultivar it was 725 kg/ha dry chamomile drug and at the variety Goral it was 650 kg/ha dry chamomile drug in the 1st harvest in 2006. In case of spring sowing dependence on weather conditions in term of germination and emergence of chamomilegrowth was proofed. In the years 2005 - 2007 yield potential ranged above 78 - 800 kg/ha at the 1st harvest. In both varieties from autumn and spring sowings measured amount of essential oil exceeded a standard amount of essential oil according to CzechPharmacopeia from 2002. The highest measured value of essential oil content was in the cultivar Bohemia (10 ml/kg), from autumn sowing 2006. The highest measured value of main substances (chamazulene ? 25.45 %, α-bisabolol ? 24.67 %)
