The Quasistatic Method of Loading Diesel Engine is being used as the base of our experimental activities. This method originates from the acceleration principle. The engine is made to accelerate, within a narrow range of revolutions. Under these conditions the load on the engine relatively stabilizes. This load is measurable and simultaneously the other engine inputs namely; fuel consumption on one hand and on the other output parameters like poisonous emissions and other characteristics can be determined. The method can be utilized during the normal day- to-day applications of service stations where emission parameters and fuel consumption of diesel engines are measured. This could be taken as a "substitute" for the ECE 83 R standard homologated measurements, which are not cost effective for such applications due to their cost.
