Some bio-fuels for combustion equipment and their emission characteristics

  • Original language description

Using biomass as a renewable source of energy has a number of positive aspects and helps in solving not only ecological problems, but also agricultural and forestry problems. Biomass-based fuels contain no sulphur and generate no sulphur dioxide emissions. Other noxious substances present in phytofuel emissions are in comparison with fossil fuel emissions less harmful. The aim of the test measurements is determine emission concentrations of monitored substances in the produced combustion gasses of various types of briquetted bio-fuels. During the actual measurements, monitored were emission concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen (O2), nitrogen oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen chloride (HCl) and air coefficient n. In addition, determined were individual values of combustion characteristics. The solving of given problem helps to the emission´s limitation as well as to the decreasing of air pollution.
