Linear horizontal ground heat exchanger as a low-Temperature energy source for a heat pump
Original language description
Geothermal heat is in this article exploited as a source of low potential energy for a heat pump operated for heating of building. The article presents results of field measurements of linear horizontal heat exchanger setup aimed at distribution and temperature changes in soil around the heat exchanger, transferred heat flows and energies from the soil. The study involves annual period, so the soil temperatures and specific heat fluxes are examined during heating and following stagnation period in summer. The soil recovery before new heating period is important for heat source stability. Other major parameters studied in this article are influence of thermal characteristics of soil mass, soil moisture, linear heat exchangers configuration and material, type of flow and temperature of heat transfer fluid to operate a heat pump. Discussion considers effect of ethanol concentration in heat transfer fluid to the type of flow and heat transfer coefficient between fluid and inner wall of exchanger's pipe.
