Original language description

A taxonomic revision of the Anthaxia (Haplanthaxia) zanzibarica Kerremans, 1898 species-group with the description of five new species: Anthaxia (H.) acutipennis sp. nov. (Tanzania), A. (H.) beninensis sp. nov. (Benin), A. (H.) cadiformis sp. nov. (Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania), A. (H.) glabricollis sp. nov. (Kenya) and A. (H.) purpureifrons sp. nov. (Tanzania, Zambia). Two new synonyms are proposed: Anthaxia (H.) ikuthana Obenberger, 1928 = A. (H.) chyuluensis Théry, 1941, syn. nov. and A. (H.) zanzibarica Kerremans, 1898 = A. (H.) vassei Kerremans, 1913, syn. nov. and a lectotype is designated for A. (H.) ikuthana Obenberger, 1928. All species are illustrated and a key for identification of all species is provided.
