Original language description
The paper describes vegetation in the Florida Everglades from historical and current point of view. The originál vegetation dominated by sawgrass (Cladium jamaicense), water lilies (Nymphaea odkryta), spikerush (Eleocharis spp.) and calcarous periphyton,remains only in the southern parts while in the northern parts which are heavily affected by runoff from agricultural areas, sawgrass is replaced by other plants species, especially cattail (Typha domingensis).
