A brief summary on the morphology of immature stages (egg, all three larval instars and pupa) of Diamesus Hope, 1840 (Coleoptera: Silphidae: Silphinae) is provided. Biology of Diamesus is summarized, attraction to light traps and baited pitfall trap is general way how adults are mostly collected. Larva of D. osculans is compared with larva of Necrodes littoralis (Linnaeus, 1758).
