In vitro growth-inhibitory effect of essential oils and supercritical carbon dioxide extracts from Cinnamomum spp. barks and fruits against food bacterial pathogens in liquid and vapor phase
Original language description
Cinnamomum cassiafruits essential oil (EO) is most effective agent against common foodborne pathogens in liquid and vapour phase. Broth microdilution volatilization method has been used and validated for testing of potential natural food preservatives. Based on the results, EO and CO2 extract from C. cassia fruit could be suitable for potential use as enhancement of modified atmosphere packaging.
