Real Well near Boundary - Solution by Imaginary Well.

  • Original language description

The preceding solutions of complete well were based on the assumption of an infinite waterlogged stratum. This assumption, however, is usually not complied with in the cases when the well is situated near a (permeable or impermeable) boundary, i.e. whenthe lateral boundary is situated within reach of the well (while the depression cone excedees the boundary). During the discharge from the well within reach of which the (permeable or impermeable) lateral boundary is situated, the solution may be based on the theory of mirror reflection of imaginary wells. The procedure was derived by P.Forchheimer in 1935. In this contribution a real well (with additional resistence) is considered.
