The chapter describes the social and cultural aspects of beer and brewing in the Czech Republic. Moreover, the level of beer consuption, history of brewing and its tradition in the Czech lands, as well as environmental conditions for hops cultivation arediscussed. The chapter concludes that the tradition of beer drinking remains lively in the Czech Republic, having survived all political, social, economic and other changes, all of which bear witness to the essentially favourable character of beer.
