The paper analyses the functions of university lecturer in agricultural education with reference to his/her pedagogical competency. It presents the results of individual assessments of personal pedagogical competency of more than 150 academic staff of the Czech University of Agriculture (CUA) at Prague. It also discusses the experience gained with training courses to develop pedagogical competency.
